Please note animals on siteThe spaceBlairbeich is a delightful and unique country house built in the Scandinavian style. It wraps around it's own small loch which forms a wonderful water feature. The house is set in some 28 acres of grounds which include formal gardens with lochan and sun terrace. It has charming ancient woodlands with duck pond, paddock, large sweeping driveway and vast parking spaces (car share is recommended if at all possible though!).
Free range cats and when we are (around) our dog Teddy also live on site and are very much part of Blairbeich life! Given the opportunity, be warned they will come and make friends! The house has been converted into two separate dwellings with separate entrances. You will be staying in an entirely self sufficient, large annexe next door to the smaller, owners' living quarters. There is a large lounge area with vaulted ceiling with wonderful views of the small loch to the south and Ben Lomond to the north. There is also a large Clearview burning stove. You can buy bags of logs on site. Logs are hand split, grown on site and fully sustainable. ******Logs currently unavailable-2023The kitchen comes fully equipped with dishwasher, instant hot water tap, fridge/freezer and large range cooker. There are 2 bedrooms off the lounge on the ground floor; one double with en-suite and the master, a superking, en-suite with separate bath and walk in shower. From this master bedroom you can access the small lochan from french doors.Upstairs, there is a king size bedroom with a dressing area and an en suite shower room. Outside this room there is a small mezzanine area with a small double 'click' sofa bed. It is worth noting that the stairs to this area are “interesting” and not suitable for unaccompanied children or those with physical disabilities.Guest accessAll indoor/ most of the outdoor space (except outbuildings)Other things to notePlease note the upstairs rooms in this house are accessed via small/steep staircases and may be unsuitable for some people/small childrenWe have 3 cats, and sometimes various numbers of chickens and a dog Teddy.
They are free range amongst the grounds so please be aware that if doors or windows are open they will visit. This is not a problem with us but you may wish to check with your party. We also send a comprehensive email with the quirks of the house in order to set expectations!*** WE ARE BACK** after having a short hiatus from hosting in September 2020 onwards, when we welcomed our first baby! You will therefore notice a small gap in our reviews and stays (along with the large gap created by COVID!) *****
