A hidden gem in the heart of the Black Hills, our cabin is nestled on 3 private acres lovingly named Squirrel Hill. With decks in every direction, you're encouraged to take in the abundance of nature. Watch for deer, turkey, birds and squirrels. Relax under the pines in the hot tub or on the deck featuring a gas firepit and 10-person table.
Inside, you'll find everything you need for a well-appointed getaway. Worlds away from the hustle & bustle of real life; just 10 minutes west of Rapid City.
There is a propane-fueled firepit in the backyard. Because we are in the pines, open flames are not allowed.
The "bunkhouse" (bedroom #4) is located over the gameroom. It has a thermostat-controlled gas fireplace, TV, portable A/C, and its own full bathroom with shower. It is a separate building, but the two buildings are connected by the deck. This bedroom is not suitable for young children to sleep in without adult supervision.
Gameroom: the garage space has been converted into a hip gameroom (there is no garage space for vehicles). It features a foosball table, commercial dart board, air hockey, pool table, 2 booths with tables and board games, and a 55" Roku TV with sound bar and subwoofer. The floors are epoxy and the walls are finished with corrugated metal, street signs, license plates, and other family fun decor. Note: even though the space is fully insulated, in the midst of winter the two infrared heaters may not be able to keep up enough to be comfortable without coats.
There is a collection of board games in the loft and a cabinet full of outdoor games in the backyard to keep everyone entertained.
Responsible adults are encouraged to respectfully enjoy our little neck of the woods. No smoking inside; no parties or loud noise.
Guests have 3 private acres to explore on their own. Please do not cross the fence where it comes to a point in the backyard - it is several hundred acres owned by a private tree farm. The fence can be crossed on the side by the gazebo and you are free to explore all the way to the gully, which is the property line.
