Welcome to The Whistling Turtle Chalet on Cable Lake! Bring your family or group and enjoy our spacious and luxe North Woods cabin on a lovely lake in northwestern Wisconsin. We can easily accommodate 12 to 15 people in our large 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom chalet. Enjoy fishing, swimming, and boating at the lake. Play lawn games in our large yard. Grill out on our patio. Cook in our chef's kitchen. Have a movie night in our theater room. And so much more! We are located just 7 minutes from downtown Spooner: a quaint, historic North Woods train town. Your group will have a blast exploring the local restaurants, shops, arts and antiques scene, and attractions. You will be close to walking/biking trails and ATV trails in the warm months, and snowmobile, skiing, and snow shoeing trails in the winter months. The Namekagen River, a local favorite for canoeing, is not far from our place. Many of our guests spend most of their time soaking in the North Woods atmosphere and activities right at our chalet. But you can also use our chalet as a jumping off point for exploring other beautiful lakes nearby, fun lake towns like Hayward and Shell Lake, and even Duluth, the Apostle Islands, and other places on Lake Superior.
Neighbourhood Description
We are on a beautiful, quiet, yet fully recreational lake. The neighborhood is woodsy and so peaceful. You are surrounded by nature. At the same time, we have neighboring cabins close by, so you are not totally secluded. The town of Spooner, only 7 minutes away by vehicle, is quaint and fun, with a hopping downtown area, a couple grocery stores, churches, restaurants, bowling, etc.
The chalet is about an hour south of Duluth on Lake Superior and over an hour from the Apostle Islands.
About 90 minutes south is the fun college town of Eau Claire and nearby is the cute river town of Chippewa Falls, with its famous Leinenkugel's Brewery.
The Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul) are about 2 hours southwest of our chalet.
