The space This is our Family Beach House and when the opportunity arose, we jumped at the chance to build our sunny abode in our favourite holiday spot on the Sunshine Coast. And now we are opening it up for guests to enjoy while we are away. Long summer days are spent wandering from the house to the beach, down to the nearby pub for lunch and then heading to the river mouth for the afternoon. “Any kids that we have staying with us are tired and in bed by seven o’clock”. Our house is located on an easement block which makes it ideal as it is right next to the walkway that leads you to the beach, shops and restaurants. Our style is relaxed, and coastal. The success of the open plan living comes down to the abundance of natural light created from the high ceilings and sky lights making the space bright and airy. Our homes interior aesthetic stems from trips over to Indonesia where we shipped home natural stones and customised furniture to create a feeling of high end luxe. Our mid-toned marble floors are the easiest to live with, as they hide muddy paw prints, sand and much more, I don’t know how I ever lived without them. KITCHEN A practical, family friendly gourmet kitchen with Caesarstone benchtops and quality appliances. There is a double door fridge with an ice maker and water dispenser and overall is a space that has a great sense of symmetry and order and lends itself well to frequent entertaining. The adjoining alfresco area is accessible via a customised café style window that creates an easy flow between indoors and out. Further transforming this into a chef’s paradise is the adjacent butler’s pantry, a separate space to prepare food and clean up without cluttering up your main kitchen, here you will find another fridge. LIVING ROOM People often say the kitchen is the heart of the home, but for us it is the living room. This is where we eat, drink and relax. Our living area is focused on a central outdoor space, our timber bifold doors open out onto the undercover alfresco space that is the perfect backdrop for having friends over and enjoying the sunny days by the pool. The lounge is set and ready for you to relax in with a stylish and spacious upholstered sofa from Freedom, the area will be dressed up for the festive season. Smart TV: 65Inch complete with Netflix, Binge, Stan, Disney, Prime, Kayo. OUTDOORS A long timber table is the perfect place to gather around and enjoy family time, end the day with a champagne on the deck, before falling asleep to the sound of the ocean – then wake up and repeat. BEDROOMS Take comfort in customised bedroom furniture and sleep easy with floor to ceiling curtains to enjoy a sleep-in. All beds come with quality linen and towels supplied. The main room enjoys views across the pool. We wanted our room to be at the back of the home so we could hear the ocean at night and away from the main entertaining areas. Bedroom Two - has a king-sized bed or the option of splitting this one into two single beds. Bedroom Three – has a king-sized bed or the option of splitting this one into two single beds. Bedroom Four - contains a king single, with an additional single trundle available. Bedroom Five – has a single bed, with an additional single trundle available. There is also the use of a cot or toddler bed if needed (hire cost incurred) BATHROOMS The main ensuite is luxurious and light filled with the beauty of floor to ceiling natural stone. Enjoy some bath time sanctuary in our stunning oversized freestanding stone bath. MEDIA ROOM There are separate areas for children and grown-ups for families that come to stay. When designing our home, it was important for us to have a floor plan to suit our family’s current lifestyle. We liked the idea of having a space where I could put all the kid’s toys and close it off from the rest of the house. We wanted the kids to have their own zone where they can hang out and know that space can grow with them over time. For those families that come to stay with us who bring children, we can create this space with as many toys and games as you would like, just let us know and this can be easily arranged. There is a Koala queen sized sofa bed in this room that can also be used as a bed. Smart TV: Netflix and PlayStation 4 with games OTHER ITEMS TO NOTE Nothing says summertime like the whirring of a fan above you. There is fully ducted air-conditioning and ceiling fans throughout the house. The Neighbourhood Mudjimba is a relaxed friendly coastal town of the Sunshine Coast and is arguably known for its best surf break out at Old Woman Island, which we are famously named after. This unspoilt coastal haven has a patrolled surf beach and is less frequented than sister beaches in Noosa, Mooloolaba and Coolum. Mudjimba beach is walking distance from the Twin Waters Resorts, a short drive to Maroochydore and 90mins from Brisbane. Sunshine Coast Airport 1.3km Brisbane Airport 100km (just over an hour’s drive)
