Welcome, medical professionals to a comfy stay for medical students, residents and fellows in our charming, renovated, wartime house. Our home is reserved exclusively for those completing placements at the Civic Hospital / Ottawa Heart Institute situated a 12-15 minute walk away.
The house is shared with potentially another medical professional in the room across from yours along with Terry and I. More than just a rental, this is your home away from home. We look forward to hosting you!
The space Large bedroom with room darkening curtains. Desk, lots of light, dresser and closet with hangers. All linens supplied and clean towels offered on weekends (we do not offer housekeeping services but you are welcome to wash your own sheets).
Ironing board and iron available.
We live in a very friendly neighbourhood!
Guest access There is a shared bathroom on the main floor but guests always have the priority for using the bathroom in the morning. We also have our own bathroom downstairs :-)
You may use cooking utensils and cooking appliances in kitchen. We have provided a small refrigerator in your room so ask you to be cognizant that groceries you purchase will fit in there. The kitchen fridge is not shared space.
You're welcome to use the washer and dryer in the basement at pre-negotiated times. Unlimited wi-fi provided.
During your stay As Darlene works from home, she is around more often.
Terry is a bit of an introvert - but just ask him about "home" and you'll get him going :-) He's an east coaster at heart :-)
Other things to note We rent only to medical students and faculty. Please note that parking is on the street only and has a 2 hour limit on weekdays.
The Ottawa Hospital lists paid parking information on their site.
We have a Ring Doorbell Camera installed on the front porch, providing visibility to the front porch and walkway for security purposes. There is another camera installed on the garage that provides a view of the back door and driveway.

We live in a wonderful neighbourhood with friendly neighbours. In the nearby Westgate Shopping Centre there is: - 24/7 Shoppers Drug Mart for convenience supplies including food - TD bank - Health food store
10 minute walk away is Hampton Park Plaza with: - Food Basics grocery store (we have re-usable bags for you to use) - Drug Store - Liquor Store - Cannabis Store
Within a 30 minute walk you have the hot neighbourhoods of Westboro, Hintonburg and Preston Street - enough restaurants and shops to keep you very busy!
