My house is like an old school B&B, but it stands for Bed & Beer. :-)
The Agave Room is sunny with a comfortable queen bed, table & chair, soft bathrobes & pillow options. It's the only guest room in the house, upstairs with a private bathroom. I live downstairs & work from home (I'm a Realtor) so I'm happy to chat if you're thinking about moving to Bend.
Walk to the River Trail, 4 min drive to Breweries & Food trucks in the Old Mill District, 8 min drive to Downtown.
The space The Agave Room is a sunny room upstairs with a comfortable, memory foam queen bed, table & chair, and blackout curtains. A variety of pillows and fresh bathrobes await you. In the summer, fluttering Aspen trees outside the window spread sunlight through the room.
* PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR APPROXIMATE ARRIVAL TIME WHEN YOU BOOK, OR THE DAY BEFORE ARRIVAL. THANKS!! I'll have your room ready according to your arrival time but usually not before so keep me updated and I'll be immensely grateful. 😀
You have your own bathroom across the hall. Our office is also upstairs but you probably won't see us. We live downstairs. 😀
In summers, the back patio is made for friends to share drinks, with a hammock, lounge chairs, and a fire pit for cool evenings (fire pit when I'm around). In winters, the fireplace in the shared living room is warm and cozy. I work from home (I'm a Realtor), so I'm often around and happy to give recommendations for breweries, restaurants, food trucks and nearby trails over a beer, glass of wine or cocktail.
Since I work from home, this isn't a place for guests who need remote work space. I can recommend places in town for daytime work space like coffee shops.
My garage is a dance studio and I have West Coast Swing or Salsa classes from 6 - 9 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so people will be around and I play music. I teach private lessons periodically on Mondays. If the door is open between classes you're welcome to poke your head in and check it out. It's a very nice group. :-)
There's a bit of space in the fridge to place leftovers and such, and coffee will be set up in the morning for guests to start. There is creamer in the fridge. (The kitchen is not for cooking.)
** IMPORTANT NOTE As the demographics of AirBnB have changed, it's necessary to clarify that this is my home, not a hotel. If you're the kind of person who demands service, slams doors, or just likes to complain, this isn't the place for you. Please be nice; have a smile and I'll have one for you! :-) There's not a lock on the outside of the bedroom door because I don't want to deal with guests losing keys, but also because I've been doing this for 9 years, I've had over 6,000 people come through my house and never had a problem. If you don't trust people, my home isn't the place for you. Please don't book, then leave me a bad review because I don't have locks.
This is a place for travelers to share life! Friendly, genuine openness is what you'll find here. I'm a world traveler, open-minded and I love meeting people. I look forward to meeting you!
Guest access You're free to roam about the house, use the gas fireplace in the living room during winter months (switch to the right) or the back patio in the summer. Please be considerate and leave things as clean as you found them. :-)
Coffee will be set up in the morning for the early bird to start. There are creamers in the fridge. ( Otherwise the kitchen isn't available for guest use.)
The front door stays unlocked during the day so access is easy. I'll lock it at night when everyone is in. No curfew - I stay up super late.
During your stay I'm often available to point out my favorite restaurants, breweries, outdoor happy hours or hikes along the river. Since AirBnB is so much more friendly than a hotel it's nice to say Hi when you come and go - more like staying at a friend's than an impersonal hotel.
Other things to note Hi!
I keep all communication through the AirBnB messaging app. PLEASE let me know when you plan to arrive, with some advance warning, and keep me updated if your plan changes. This is very important to me! I try to greet guests when they arrive and I plan my work and cleaning schedule based on your arrival time. I'll let you know if I'm not going to be home when you arrive, and I'll give you check in info via the Airbnb message app, which is simple.
