The space “This was the best airbnb experience I've ever had… the boat is INCREDIBLE. The location is MIND BLOWING. Dunstan is the best host.”
Come aboard TAKK, our clean, comfortable, unique and stylish open layout widebeam.
We are moored just a 5-10min walk from the famous Thermae Spa, Theatre Royal, Roman Baths, Georgian buildings, Bath Abbey, Bath rugby club, Komedia, museums, bars, restaurants and much more. As an UNESCO World Heritage site, there are also beautiful, serene and nature-filled walks for you to enjoy in the sunshine.
At twice the width of a narrowboat, you will enjoy a cosy, yet spacious feel. Even if you are tall, you will have the headroom to move freely once on board. If you are >6’3, you will have to duck a little to use the shower and mind your head on the way in and out.
You get to learn the realities of boating life and managing precious finite resources. It does require some effort and sometimes workaround solutions if there are unexpected occurrences. We are available to assist you as required throughout your stay. PLUS, you will learn how to improve your consumption, costs and environmental impact at home!
On the stern (rear) deck is an outside seating area for soaking up the sun as you enjoy your tea/coffee, breakfast and the natural beauty of Bath. The main entrance is also here, leading into the kitchen and main living area. There are two deep steps, so you must be relatively nimble.
The kitchen contains a full-sized fridge, oven and workspace, plus all the listed amenities and essentials you may need. The work surfaces are finished in distinctive copper, with purpose designed oak-faced cupboards that keep everything ship shape.
Enjoy a complimentary assortment of teas, coffee, local handmade granola, oat milk, organic fruits and fresh, mineral-rich spring water from a secret location nearby. Additional organic produce, superfood smoothie kits and a juicer can also be supplied upon request for £6pp/pd.
After a day enjoying the sun, in the main living area, guests LOVE relaxing on the sofa by the stylish wood burner with its eco-friendly warmth, cosiness and romantic ambience if you please... We provide a generous amount of wood and coal, especially for summer. Any more will incur a reasonable cost.
Also in the lounge area, we have a single sofa bed available as a second bed and the main sofa converts to a double pullout bed as needed.
If you need extra cosiness, the boat also has diesel-powered radiators we will show you how to use – it’s a little different to typical central heating! We can also provide thicker linens, extra blankets, hot water bottles and portable heaters for you to use if you need them. You will always be nice and snug!
In keeping with the ambience of the boat, there is no television on board. We see it as an opportunity to spend memorable time with loved ones. For a fun night in, there is a fold out table and board games to enjoy with your shipmates. "We spent far less time on screens which is a massive plus in my book!!"
Charging IS available for your devices and we have a Wi-Fi dongle if you do wish to be connected. Please let us know upon booking if you would like Wi-Fi.
The bathroom has a spacious shower with eco-friendly soap & shampoo, a 'Thetford' camping style portable loo and a heated towel rail. Hot water comes via running the engine and full instructions are given at checkin.
After a day out exploring all the nearby attractions, you will enjoy a great rest in our plush double bed in the spacious bedroom at the front of the boat with doors opening onto the bow deck. The view from the bedroom is very fine indeed, looking up towards the Pulteney Weir and the Royal Bath Hotel.
Swans and Ducks often visit - a beautiful experience on a warm spring day! If you are patient, you might see Cormorant, Heron and if you are very lucky, Kingfishers and Otters. Although, despite being super-hosts, we cannot promise they will be present...

Guest access You will have full access to all parts of the boat except for some cupboards containing personal possessions, but they aren't that interesting anywa
