Enjoy this STUDIO APT with lovely sea view conveniently located only 1 and a half miles from Dingle. Take a 3 minute walk to a local cove beach and come back to enjoy a cup of tea on the patio or relax by the fire. Beautiful countryside area with town only a few minutes drive away. Studio is on the backside of my cottage where I live. One queen bed in the main area and two single beds in a small low ceiling loft with railings open to below so no children under 5. Dogs require pre approval.
The space The studio has a lovely view from the kitchenette table of the sea and out to Skellig Michael. There is a queen size comfortable bed and there are loft stairs to two single beds. The loft has a railing and is open to the room below and has a low ceiling. No small children under 5 please.
Guest access Guests have their own private entry and use of the patio with table and chairs. Things to do right from Beenbawn Cottage; Stroll 3 minutes to beautiful Beenbawn Beach. At the cove is a lovely Sandy beach at low tide and a cove of water at high tide. It's safe for swimming and used by locals. There is fishing tackle to borrow to try your hand at catching dinner. A 30-meter pre-Christian ringfort is about a five-minute walk from the cottage off the boreen to Doonsean (Dún Síon). This national historic site has Ogham writing on lapidated oval stones from the storm beach at Minard. I will give you more historical information and directions once you are here. Pack a picnic lunch and wander up to the top of Beenbawn head. Walk safely along the cliffs to the stone cairn at the peak for breath-taking views of Dingle Bay and passing fishing and sail boats. You can see across to the Beara Peninsula, Skellig Michael, and Valentia Island where the first transatlantic cable linked Europe to America. To the west is Eask Tower marking the entrance to Dingle Harbour. There is a picturesque beach with estuary and sea stack about a mile away called Dun Sion. And of course there's shopping in the town along with water sports and an aquarium.
Other things to note I do NOT allow children under 5 for safety reasons. I have a pony on the property that might nip and some feral cats that live on the back patio. I'm open to people bringing their dog on holiday (ADVANCE permission required as certain slobbery or very large breeds are not welcome) and as long as it is kept on lead as it's my animals home and I don't want anyone's dog in with my pony . If you leave the dog in the studio while you go out no barkers please. Please don't feed Jesse the pony without asking as he never gets treats by hand.
Neighbourhood Description
Beenbawn is a quaint hamlet of 21 farmhouses a mile from Dingle. You can walk to town along the seaside by the lighthouse which takes about 45 minutes. The road the house is on is a fuchsia-lined narrow road past the track of the annual Dingle Races and then the main road is narrow with fast traffic and no footpaths and I don't recommend walking it into town. Taxis are available. We are a cluster of family homes by the sea with horses, dairy cows, and sheep on the hillside.
